Sorry, I don't understand. Are you talking about additional hardware?
I don't think this is necessary, because the normal RTC on your mainboard
can do that already. Just the software support is missing (I'm not sure, I
have to look at the device driver for the RTC first to tell more).

I have a idea to install a RTC that switch the ATX power supply on when VDR
wants to record.
Does someone interests at this project?
