i converted a hotbird list to channel.conf or whatever its called, the format
of VDR, and

i see the OSD(which means the control menu on the tv screen, i understand)
when i compile VDR with the menu-debug option, on the pc virtual terminal
window. In this mode, i can use the menu(only with pc keyboard, nothing else
configured), but get a seg fault when when going to "Program"

what i dont get, is first of all the OSD via CVBS output (i mean the builtin connector coming out of the card, with the included cynch adapter-> scart -> tv) on the tv.

This CVBS-plug (same or similar format as ps2 mouse plug) comes with an adapter
into a yellow video(or tv??) cynch plug and two audio left and right cynch
plugs.

The audio connectors work, meaning, i find positions on the scart connector for
a tv audio signal, but the video connection i dont get.
i dont have an oscilloscope to test the video out signal.

Do i have to use the J2 connector, since its described in the FAQ? i will
test this next, if i dont find a quick solution.

To have a chance of getting this to work, i understand, that i have
to get to see the OSD on a connected TV set.

And this first of all seems to be a connector problem, and maybe some
dvb-driver options (1 and 2 i tested:-( )?

I dont have much time to fiddle with this right now, but i wont
give up ;-).

So any little hint will be further appreciated.
Enjoy

Dieter
