[linux-dvb] 16:9-signalling?
Hi...
finally I did it... I compiled a 2.4.5-kernel and switched to the new api
and VDR 0.83. I just can't say much about stability since the whole stuff
has not been running long enough.
I tried the new "16:9" setting in VDR and when replaying 16:9-recordings,
they now are shown in anamorphic format which is just great!!
The only problem is that I have to manually switch my TV to "Wide"-Mode.
The TV (Sony KV32FX65E) is connected via the Front-AV (cinch) to a
DD-Receiver (Sony STR-DB940QS) and my VDR is connected to the
TV/Sat-Video-Input. I also have a Playstation-2 on the DVD-Input and when
watching DVDs, the TV automatically switches to Wide, so I assume that
there must be some signalling within the picture-data (somewhere in the
upper scanlines where the Teletext is).
Does anybody know if there is such a standardized signal or if this might
be just some Sony-specific stuff and IF it is standardized, shouldn't the
DVB-driver be able to use that signal, too?
Greetings, Marcus
