It is, but there are RC-1 firmwares on the net, after patching the drive
with such one, no problems anymore. With regionset changing the RC works
only 5 times... After that you can throw your drive out the window.
I found the firmware on a french site found by google.
(firmware_dvd106rpc1.zip) - hmm, I have a 116 drive, so don't mind.
The firmware was loaded in April 2001, so probably there's a newer one...
