Since I have a DVB-C you may have different problems than I, but
here's some outcommand error know-how ;-) I have learned since, from
other people on the various lists that it is very common with
outcommand errors if you are trying to use CI/CAM.

The solution which works OK for me is what someone suggested; take
away an #if 0 in the driver to get CAM debug outputs, and restart the
driver until it would show up. This is what I do nowadays, since if I
ever get the outcommand error, the driver just does not work
correctly, I get all sorts of problem. Also for me, card works fine
under windows (I can recommend dvbx as a solution while trying to find
the error under linux).

Unfortunately, I think the firmware is the problem, and as such I do
not think there's any way for "us" to find the solution.

There's also an patched driver working with technotrends firmware
which supposedly works fine with many CI/CAM, but I have yet to test
it.

I'm sorry that I cannot give you the line with the #if 0, it was in a
switch/case statement, but I'm not close to my machine now, so I don't
know for sure.

AI> Are there any additional diagnostics I can do? Is my hardware faulty?

I normally use czap in apps/szap/ with a known fta and also a good
well known encrypted channel which you should be able to tune to.
Make sure you double check frequency/srate/etc etc.
In my setup, last time I tried dvbsak, I never really got it to work
(or maybe I did not understand its output!) well.
