[linux-dvb] Problems with a DVB-T

Hello all,

I finally got my hands on a TT DVB-T card via dvb-shop.

I am having big problems with it though, and I would really
appreciate some help and input.

I have tried using it with both the latest CVS driver and
the technotrend windows software with the same result:
I get a somewhat correct picture in about the upper half
and mostly noice (blocks) in the lower half. The somewhat
correct upper part is jerky with a few updates every second.
It looks the same on the composite output and on the
windows software screen picture.

When I run tzap it looks like this:
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
tuning to 730000000 Hz

which doesn't look very stable to me.

I have tried some different settings for FEC and guard interval and
other parameters (neither of which I really understand) to no avail.

When the card is booting there are jagged stripes on the video output
for a few seconds, like some random memory contents. Is this normal?

The card is rev 1.2, recently bought from dvb-shop and has a TDLB7
and the infamous SP8870 (which seems to be made '99, other chips
are 2002). There seems to be solder bridges between legs of the
SP8870 in several places. I don't know if that is intended or not.
I have searched for the SP8870 on the web but haven't been able to
find a spec or pinout, so I can't verify the bridges.
Does anybody out there have any information on it (I seem to recall
that Holger said he had it?)?

Thanks for any hints or help!

/ragge
