I figured out what needed to be done, just "make menuconfig" and then
save the kernel settings without changing stuff.  "make modules" expects
to find the ".config" file there, and it wasn't since I hadn't configured
a kernel... once I did that, I could compile everything from the linuxtv
suite without errors.

Now, it's getting a bit late, I'll continue tomorrow... meanwhile, any of
our Helsinki readers have a ready channels.conf-dvbc-helsinki file handy?
I could probably distill one from the Windows equivalent file, but it'd
be a lot quicker since someone must already have done it?
