[linux-dvb] SuSE 8.1 and Hauppauge Nexus-s Remote Control

I run a SuSE 8.1 system and want to use vdr with the installed Nexus-s card
and the original Haupauge IR Receiver and the original Haupauge Remote.

I was so fare that I could see the request of vdr via kvdr asking me to press
buttons on my remote control and here is the problem...

It seams that the original Hauppauge Remote Control is not recognized with the
plugged-in original Hauppage receiver.

It seams the dvb_lirc.o module is missing somehow :-(, so I have installed the
suse kernel sources and the kernel modules for dvb and lirc from the suse
dvd.

I tried to follow the instructions from
http://www.linuxtv.org/mailinglists/vdr/2002/08-2002/msg00700.html :-))

In lirc/setup.sh I have configured hauppauge_dvb. If I run save and run
configure, I get the message, deamons/lircd.c is missing... :-(=( With a
downloaded lirc-0.6.6 all works until step 11:
Regardless which button I use, nothing is displayed neither on the console,
nor in /var/log/messages! :-(

I have used as my lircd.conf a file I copied from
lirc-0.6.6/remotes/haupauge/lircd.conf.haupauge.

The syslog tells about loading the modules:

For me everything looks good...

If I start VDR I see in kvdr the nice message ("Learning Remote Keys [...]") I
have started with; at least I have not destroyed my installation...

Where is the error.... Any help or hint is welcome!!!

If all this is not nesseary, please give me a step-by-step description of how
to activate the Nexus-s build-in IR receiver starting from an off-the-box
SuSE 8.1 avoiding the installation of other packages than those on the
original SuSE DVD...

Rgds
