[linux-dvb] ATS/CNI on DVB?

Hi,

does anyone here know if/how ATS (Automatic Tuning System) and CNI (Channel
Network Identifier) translate to DVB? In analog TV, ATS ("ATS euro plus",
can't find a spec anywhere:() allows a TV set to "recognize" the stations
found in a channel search and order them automatically (though I don't know
where the order comes from - is it made up by the TV manufacturer, or is
there some "official" order?).

The recognition is done by retrieving the CNI from the VPS line 16, or from
the Teletext signal. AFAIK, this number is also used for PDC, i.e. when you
enter a ShowView number, it contains the CNI so your analog VCR knows which
station to record from (is that correct?).

Is any of this available on DVB? Does ShowView work with DVB? How do DVB
Set-Top-Boxes order the services they find in a channel scan...?

Curious,
