[linux-dvb] Could HPS/DMA1 be used for budget DMA...?

Hi,

I've been wondering if the "sensitivity" of budget-card DMA transfers would
be lessened if the HPS and video DMA1 of the SAA7146A was used for
transferring the MPEG-2 Transport Stream instead of the current BRS/DMA3
path (maybe HPS/DMA1 is less bugged than BRS/DMA3...).

However, my attempts to implement this have not been so successful - it
seems the HPS can only transfer the first "line" correctly, as on the
following "lines" it appears to swallow the first four bytes (maybe it
mistakes them for SAV/EAV codes, even though I programmed not to use
SAV/EAV into the DD1 registers...?).

Can anyone tell me whether using the HPS/DMA1 path for this should be
possible or not...? Or maybe even give me an idea why the HPS is swallowing
the first four bytes starting from the _second_ line (HXO is zero)...?

Regards,
