[linux-dvb] DVB-S rev1.5 tuning problem

Now that I've come up with a temporary solution to my TV-out problem I've moved onto tuning. I haven't been able to lock onto the frequency that all the channels are on (S 12478000 H 2780000 3/4). As an example with dvbtune:

dvbtune -c 0 -f 12478000 -p h -s 2780000
Using DVB card "STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based"
tuning DVB-S to L-Band:8, Pol:H Srate=-1514967296, 22kHz=off
polling....
Getting frontend event
FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_CARRIER
polling....
Getting frontend event
FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_TIMEDOUT FE_HAS_CARRIER
Not able to lock to the signal on the given frequency

The card is detected as follows (even though it is a rev1.5 card):

saa7146: register extension 'dvb'.
saa7146_core: found saa7146 @ mem e090be00 (revision 1, irq 17) (0x13c2,0x0000).
DVB: registering new adapter (Siemens/Technotrend/Hauppauge PCI rev1.3).
probe_tuner: try to attach to Siemens/Technotrend/Hauppauge PCI rev1.3
stv0299.c: setup for tuner BSRU6, TDQB-S00x
DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based)...
Siemens/Technotrend/Hauppauge PCI rev1.3 adapter 0 has MAC addr = 00:d0:5c:03:2a:70
DVB: AV7111(0) - firm f0240009, rtsl b0250018, vid 71010068, app 8000261b
DVB: AV7111(0) - firmware supports CI link layer interface
av7110(0): Crystal audio DAC detected
saa7146_fops: saa7146 (0): registered device video0 [v4l2]
av7110: found av7110-0.

The satellite on which my service (Foxtel Australia) is on is Optus C1. Does anyone have any idea if the problems are driver related? As all the hardware seems to be fine (ie my STB can receive correctly with the same settings and the same cable). Could the misdetection of the card revision be related to the tuning problem?

I'm at a loss. I've tried creating test channels for szap (with made up pids but all other settings correct) but it also fails to lock to any signal. Even tried dvbscan and when it works (which is fairly intermittent) it fails to find anything. Hope someone can see what the problem might be. Thanks.

Regards,
Michal
