[linux-dvb] frontend problem

hi all,
just installed the DVB driver on mdk9.2 (thanks guido), but I discovered some
more problem:
1 - is it a problem that the nexus-s 2.1 card shares IRQ ? if yes how do I
manage to change one's IRQ?
lspci -v
02:0a.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 01)
Subsystem: Technotrend Systemtechnik GmbH: Unknown device 0003
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 10
        Memory at efeffa00 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512]
00:1f.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801AA USB (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [UHCI])
        Subsystem: Intel Corp. 82801AA USB
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10
        I/O ports at dc00 [size=32]
dmesg
Linux video capture interface: v1.00
DVB: registering new adapter (Technotrend/Hauppauge PCI rev2.1 or 2.2).
PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 02:0a.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 10 with 00:1f.2
stv0299.c: setup for tuner BSRU6, TDQB-S00x
DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based)...
DVB: AV7111(0) - firm f0240009, rtsl b0250018, vid 71010068, app 8000261a
DVB: AV7111(0) - firmware supports CI link layer interface
av7110(0): adac type set to 0
Technotrend/Hauppauge PCI rev2.1 or 2.2 adapter 0 has MAC addr =
00:d0:5c:20:43:0c

2- do I need always to run software like szap or equivalent as root ?
[chris@tux chris]$ dvb-szap -n 5
reading channels from file '/home/chris/.szap/channels.conf'
zapping to 'TV 5 FBS (F) ':
sat 1, frequency = 10834 MHz V, symbolrate 27500000, vpid = 0x01a4, apid =
0x01ae
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
opening frontend failed: Permission denied

3- what are the best tools to check signal strength from sat plate ?

thanks again to all the contributors (it is not obvious to build a dvb system
from scratch, oh god I miss a DVB-VDR from scratch howto!)

chris
