[linux-dvb] receiving data from multiple transponders
Hi, I'm a generic programmer with some (very) little knoledge on how
the dvb driver under Linux works and I have a question.
I'm interested in using Skydsl service under Linux but this provider
doesn't support linux, only Win 2000 e Win Pro.
I've recently discovered, talking with an ex-beta-tester, that the
reason resides in the fact that skydsl provide internet via sat in a
particular way. They use 3 transponder at once instead of one.
If a packet is not available on one transponder because it's too busy,
that one is automatically being received from another one.
I've been told the Teles PCI card supports natively this need under
Windows XP while for the Skystar2 they've developed a patch.
I'm wondering if the current implementation of the dvb is suitable to be
modified to support such a kind of service. Has anyone any idea how much
work would it need to get it working?
Thank you,
Daniele Primon
