[linux-dvb] Re: DVB-S USB board

I have a DEC 3000-S but the frontend refuses to lock. I gave up trying this one a few weeks ago because i read somewhere that this is a known problem. Now that i have some time again i was planning to try another one that is known to work. If there are some (good) news about the DEC 3000-S maybe i do not need to buy another one.
Beside of this device I'm aware of two other USB DVB-S devices:

B2C2/Technisat Sky2PC USB (no linux driver yet, USB1.1)
Twinhan StarBox (no linux driver, I think USB1.1)

Vendors are not so interested in having USB DVB-s products, because they are focused on mobile solutions when considering USB. Afaik a DVB-s device has to provide power for the LNB and the USB port does not deliver enough energy, thus all USB DVB-s devices need a separate power supply.

Patrick.
