How about to interpret the CA-Value as a bool-Value.
In the Settings you can specify (new Entry with number as Value) which card
has the CA-Interface.
If CA in channel.conf is "1" the CA-Interface-number is read from the
settings.
So everybody can use the channel.conf without editing and the settings
specify the real card number.
