[vdr] once again: standby mode

hi list!

i know i was discussed several times before, but maybe there are
some news converning standby mode of the dvb.s cards.

why i write this: today my machine totally crashed (maybe because
of over 35 degrees room-temp). no keyboard control, no picture
on the screen, nothing.

at this time i was measuring the temp of the cards (see some mails
before), so i could see a temp drop of 10(!) degrees on the surface
of the cards after the computer crashed.

that means, that, if there is some kind of power save mode we can
put the card in when it.s no used, we can save energy, but what.s
(for me) much more important -> cool that damn thing a bit down !

to get me right: the machine was still on power , but i guess the
mpeg2 decoder and/or tuner stopped working. so it.s no true standby
mode - just something like that. if we could see how to disable
these two parts on the card - GREAT !!
