I had trouble getting the parameters to be recognised in vdr 1.1.13 for
my terrestrial setup - the solution was to specify /every/ parameter not
just the QAM value, so I ended up with a string like

BBC ONE (TV):754166:I0C34D0M16B8T2G32Y0:T:27500:600:601:0:0:4168

And that works OK :)

Yes, I don't understand the techicalities of it, but a higher QAM packs
the data more densely into the same space, so it will be affected by
noise more easily.
