VDR doesn't "remove a non-existing recording". It can only remove things
that actually exist.

What kind of file system are you using? Maybe it just takes too long
to actually remove a large file.

When "deleting" a recording, the only thing that happens is the change from
".rec" to ".del". Later, when actually "removing" a recording. the directory
named ".del" is removed.

Try a newer VDR version. There has been a bug in this error message.
