While it won't really help you: My Denon 3802 runs just
perfect with AC3overDVB. I did have the same problems
as you with Jan's old patch and the first patch that Stefan
Huelswitt made, but he changed some things around and
ever since 0.1.1beta everything is perfect.

Is the 1800 an older model? The 3802 came out in 2002,
which is when I bought it. It's easy to lose track of new
appreances in the HiFi world ;o)) AFAIK specs haven't
changed in ages on the input specs of SP DIF. While the
3802 is the secondary flagship of Denon (couldn't afford
their top model ;o)), I seriously doubt that Denon would
skimp on input circuitry .They most definately don't where
it counts: in the PSU ;o)) The output is rock stable, pretty
independant of load from 2-8 ohms and there is no
quiescent hiss like those awfull Yamaha amps *all* have.

What input are you using to connect the DVB to your
amp (COAX or TOSLINK)? I am using TOSLINK.

Greetz,
Reinhard
