lirc must be compiled --with-driver=irman and libirman version should be 
at least version 0.4.2

add these parameters --device=/dev/ttyS0 --driver=irman when running 
irrecord just to make sure and press any key from your remote 
immediately or lirc can't detect your remote and will exit with that 
error message
