[vdr] DVD .vob -> PES Conversion?

Hello,

I've a number of DVDs that I've copied to hard-disk (mencoder, oac and 
ovc copy), and I'd like to integrate them into my VDR files.

Does anyone have a recipe for converting these files (PS, I believe?) 
into .vdr files that VDR will recognise and play? I have 'genindex', and 
when I run it on the vob file, it reads and generates an index. But when 
I try to play the resulting files in VDR (in a directory set up for it 
of course), I get a black screen and no sound.

I know I can use mplayer to play these files, but I'd like to have the 
files listed in VDR along with my other recordings...
