I can of course understand the desire for some people to re-encode the
VDR recording to, perhaps fit several episodes onto a single DVD-R, but for many, I think being able to insert a blank DVD-R, and just select "Burn" on the Recordings menu would be adequate :)
I strongly recommend requant for fast, easy, and rather good
further compression. The quality is imho better than with re-encoding.
And this could be added to the transform-plugin without too
great problems. But on the other hand: It can be so easily achieved
with the existing tools that even little effort would be too much.
