ok that was it as soon as I loaded the ves1x93 driver VDR no longer terminates,
thanks for all your help, I will put this into a document the next few days so that it can be
put onto the VDR website :-)

mhh one step further, next problem, ok the drivers switch something on in my card, passthrough of the sat signal works, and the connection xawtv/vdr also works I can playback files in my video dir and see something, but the problem is that I don´t get anything from
the sat card itself, is it possible that the format how the channel frequencies are handled has changed in the last few VDR revisions (my personal guess is that my old channel list simply does not make it anymore: here is an example of the list I use:

:( Hauptprogramme )
ARD:11837:H:S19.2E:27500:101:102:104:0:28106:0:0:0
ZDF:11954:H:S19.2E:27500:110:120:130:0:28006:0:0:0
RTL:12188:H:S19.2E:27500:163:104:105:0:12003:0:0:0
SAT 1:12480:V:S19.2E:27500:1791:1792:34:0:46:0:0:0
Pro 7:12480:V:S19.2E:27500:255:256;257:32:0:898:0:0:0
RTL2:12188:H:S19.2E:27500:166:128:68:0:12020:0:0:0
Kabel 1:12480:V:S19.2E:27500:511:512:33:0:899:0:0:0
VOX:12188:H:S19.2E:27500:167:136:71:0:12060:0:0:0
SuperRTL:12188:H:S19.2E:27500:165:120:65:0:12040:0:0:0
:(Spartensender)

as I said there is a definitive switch there....

does anyone have a clue (I´m on a diseq here, but my other
sat receiver which gets the pass through signal definitely gets the signal for the same
channel, so I am definitely on the corrent LNB)

I´m not sure, since I know that the card usually needs a separate firmware which is loaded during initialization, how this is handled for the 2.6 drivers, all I know in 2.4 the firmware was bundled with the drivers.
