Have anyone put a complete working VDR system on a CD that doesn't
require an install, like Knoppix? Or suitable for putting on an usb key

Try those untested links:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/geexbox-vdr (says it is French)
http://www.zastrow4u.de/vdr_inside/index.html (German, try the
.iso.bz2 download)
