Bug #12: Replay stops with blank screen

Setup: -vdr-1.3.27-enAIO-2.4.diff -vdr-1.3.27-subtitles-0.3.7-and-ttxtsubs-0.0.5.diff -vdr-1.3.27-finnish.diff and plugins (and patches when needed): -vdr-femon-0.9.0 -vdr-mp3-0.9.12 -vdr-osdteletext-0.5 + vdr-osdteletext-0.5-finnish.diff patch -vdr-subtitles-0.3.7 -vdr-text2skin-1.1 (cvs) -vdr-ttxtsubs-0.0.5 + vdr-ttxtsubs-0.0.5-premium-edition.diff patch -vdr-tvonscreen-0.7.0 + vdr-tvonscreen-0.7.0-1.3.diff patch -vdr-timeline-0.9.0 + vdr-1.3.25-timeline-0.9.0.diff patch -vdr-sysinfo-0.0.4a DVB drivers are from kernel 2.6.12.1. DVB-C card is Technotrend's FF card (v1.5 iirc). NTPL is disabled (export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1). Bug: VDR: Replay stops with blank screen 1. Viewing encrypted channel 2. Started replaying a recording => after few seconds replaying stops and nothing is shown at the screen (no sound either) Cure: change of channel back and forth cured the blank screen (replay also worked fine till the end of movie). VDR developer version 1.3.34 is now available at ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.3.34.tar.bz2 A 'diff' against the previous version is available at ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.3.33-34.diff The changes since version 1.3.33: - Fixed a leftover 'summary.vdr' in vdr.5 (thanks to Peter Bieringer for reporting this one). - Fixed opening recording folders in case the last replayed recording no longer exists (reported by Udo Richter). - Fixed an unjustified "Error while accessing recording!" after deleting a recording from a subfolder. - Fixed handling the '.update' file in case the video directory is not at the default location (reported by Jon Burgess). - Fixed a crash in cConfig::Load() when compiling on the PPC (thanks to Sascha Volkenandt). - Fixed the FATALERRNO macro to check for a non-zero errno value (reported by Marco Schlüßler). - Added a check against MAXOSDAREAS in cOsd::CanHandleAreas() (reported by Udo Richter). - Fixed setting current menu item if the first one is non-selectable. - cOsdItem::cOsdItem() now has a 'Selectable' parameter. - Improved displaying 'sub-title' and 'bottom text' in the CAM menu. - Added status message "Resetting CAM..." for an immediate feedback when the CAM reset has been triggered. - The CAM menu now automatically updates itself in case of a progress display (as used, for instance, when updating the firmware via satellite). - Now skipping some funny characters sent by some CAMs at the beginning of strings. - The CAM menu is now completely closed when pressing the Menu key while inside a sub menu. - Reduced MAX_CONNECT_RETRIES in ci.c to 2 (waiting too long made the whole thing appear hanging). - Added status message "Opening CAM menu..." for an immediate feedback when the CAM menu has been requested. - Speeded up initial opening of the CAM menu. - Fixed handling of menus with no selectable items. - The character 0x8A in CAM menu strings is now mapped to a real newline. - The 'sub-title' and 'bottom text' in the CAM menu can now consist of several lines. - Improved the CAM enquiry menu. mplayer w/ softdevice

Is it possible to show VDRs OSD when playing file with mplayer plugin when using softdevice? Also is it possible to set mplayer plugin so when replying stops, it would drop back to mplayer plugin file browsing list OSD menu? The way its setup here is very inconvenient. When I browse through my media library, every time I finish viewing one file with mplayer, I have to go back to mplayer plugin using Menu, then down, down.. keys etc. I'd like to get it to same behavior as VDRs recordings menu, so when replay finishes it puts you back to the place where I left off, i.e. in VDRs recordings menu and selection at the file that I was playing. Also with softdevice I get mplayers OSD, i.e. I can't see what's playing or at what position it is until I hit forward or backward buttons, etc. I know this is not the case on FF cards output. Radio Horeb: VDR changes transponder on its own

Hi, today I noticed a quite strange behaviour when I wanted to program Radio Horeb into my channels. I took an arbitrary channel entry and started editing it: Freq. 10832 Pol. H Srate 22000 FEC 5/6 Sid 61960 APid 64 Then I saved and tuned to it. I heard the sound of Radio Horeb... for two seconds. That's what happened: Oct 30 13:59:08 lascala user.debug vdr[1500]: changing transponder data of channel 1563 from S19.2E:10832:h:22000:5 to S19.2E:11739:v:27500:3 Well everything I edited was set back to the original values (the arbitrary entries I tried were NICKELODEON FRANCE and CANAL ALGERIE) except for APid and Sid. And this is reproducible. Any idea on how to debug this? VDR is 1.3.33 but I couldn't find related entries in the 1.3.34 ChageLog. Greetings, Sascha

Status plugin interface bug?

Hi, recently I got the evil VDSB error (with kernel 2.4.X :-(). After self restarting VDR continued the recording - but this fails with the "no tuner lock" error. cStatus::Recording() was not called in this case. But the function was called to signal the end of this (never really startet) timer. Therefore there is a imbalance between start and stop status notifications - which may lead to some plugin misbehavior :-( I'was not able to find quickly the way cTimer::Stop() was executed so I have no solution yet ... Turning off the status debugging?

Hi, Is there any way to turn off the below status messages that VDR outputs in syslog? This filled up the /var disk on our logging server, and that happened after 120000 of these messages. I guess the cable provider again has fubar data that they send out (happens quite often) and VDR isn't at fault (other than logging the status changes). CAM-Start: Delay?

Hello When I restart vdr due to a failure in the descrambling sometimes vdr does initialize the CAM too late. During the initalizing vdr starts recording but the CAM is not ready. Channel not available.... Would it be possible to give a longer delay before vdr starts recording from a encrypted channel? Would be nice allthough there are other workarounds. Regards Wolfgang

EPG data...

I know this issue has been discussed before but I still have some questions. Background. I receive some channels from more than one source and one of those sources carry a couple of days of EPG but suffers from low signal quality so I'd rather not use that source when recording/viewing. So I was thinking of exporting the EPG from that source and import it to my other sources EPG-data but found out that the <event id> and <table id> differs between these sources. What sets the <event id> and <table id> and are those values calculable? If these values are not calculable I'd like to know if there is an counter part to <table id>=0, that is - always overwrite this event if conflicting data comes from the DVB stream (conflicting as in overlapping start time and duration).
