[ANNOUNCE] vdr-xine-0.7.11 plugin

Hi, it's been a long time being busy at work and home, so I'm very pleased to announce maintenance release 0.7.11 today, which you can find on my homepage: http://home.vr-web.de/~rnissl This version doesn't contain all the features I had originally planned, because recent changes in VDR-1.5.9 demanded an earlier release. The cOsd changes in VDR-1.5.9 have only been addressed in a way that make the plugin compile. vdr-xine-0.7.11 still doesn't allow multiple cXineOsd instances. [ANNOUNCE] H.264 updates for VDR-1.5.9

Hi, the attached vdr-1.5.9-h264.patch adds H.264 support to VDR's remuxer. The changes to earlier releases are: - H264::cParser has been enhanced to provide information for H264::cContext::GetFramesPerSec() and therefore outsourced into separate files. - cVideoRepacker generates Access Unit Delimiters in case they are not part of the stream. These changes should make VDR ready for the upcoming IFA fair in regard to the broadcasts on the temporary channel EinsFestival HD. The other attached patch vdr-1.5.9-framespersec.patch tries to replace the macro FRAMESPERSEC by a function call GetFramesPerSec() which analyses a recordings first video frame to determine frames per second which are used to calculated a recordings length. The changes to earlier releases are: - add support for H.264 recordings by making use of the above mentioned H264::cParser, as frame timing stuff is quite complex. H.264 support can be turned off by putting a comment around the macro ADD_H264_SUPPORT in tools.c. This change provides correct recording length reports for recordings taken on EinsFestival HD as this channel broadcasts 50p, i. e. without the patch, VDR will report recording times which are twice the actual time. The patch in general may especially be useful for people with PAL and NTSC recordings, as in this scenario it was never possible to find a single setting for FRAMESPERSEC. Although FRAMESPERSEC has been replaced on many locations, it is still used to read/write cutting marks file, to stay compatible. It seems the new "Level" parameter in cOsd has caused xine and softdevice to fail in compile with vdr-1.5.9. Does anyone know how to fix these? Best Regards.

Understanding .po-translation

Hi, I've some problems understanding the "new method" for translation. How do I have to start when programming a new plugin? Is there any kind of documentation? For me it looks like I have to check every single line which is given in the .po-files. #: hello.c:-->17<-- msgid "Hello" msgstr "Hallo" This means, if I add a single line at the top of the file, I have to change every single linenumber in every .po-file. Or is this only a unimportant comment? This... well... I hope I'm on the wrong way.... Would be great if someone could enlighten me :) Greetings Torsten

translation context handling in vdr >= 1.5.7

Hi, I just noticed a small change in the context handling of translations since vdr-1.5.7. Till now it was possible to have e.g. const char AllowedChars[] = trNOOP("$ abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789-.,#~\\^$[]|()*+?{}/:%@&"); Note the 2 '$'. The first one only helps to have the second one in the translation and not to be interpreted as context. Previous implementations of I18nTranslate did only cut the context of the english version. So the translation could look like this in i18n.c or the po-files: // The allowed characters in strings: { "$ abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789-.,#~\\^$[]|()*+?{}/:%@&", " aäbcdefghijklmnoöpqrsßtuüvwxyz0123456789-.,#~\\^$[]|()*+?{}/:%@&", " abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789-.,#~\\^$[]|()*+?{}/:%@&", ... The current implementation cuts the translations too which results in "[]|()*+?{}/:%@&" Is this intended? If so, one could add the dummy '$' also at the beginning of the translation, but has to handle this again for backwards compatibility.
