How many PIDs are you filtering? I had a similar problem with a
full-featured card when I tried to receive too many PIDs simultaneously
(this does not happen with a "budget" card). If I remember well, this
limit is around 5 or 6 PIDs (if I try to receive only few PIDs, they are
received correctly).

When I asked about this problem some years ago I was told it is a
hardware problem. My full-featured card is a Nexus.
