You need a seperate manual for the tinbox on the card as well as the frontend 
manual. It tells you the specifics that the particular manufacturer has used 
in construction of the tinbox - e.g. what GPIOs are used to control the 
analogue frequency-dependant circuitry.

What is the manufacturer's details on the tin box? I might have the doc lying 
about...

Hmm, it seems very rare to get that - in my experience anyway :( Hence the 
multimeter comment.
