Sorry both for the slow reply (I've been on holiday) and for the compile 
break in the patch!

Well probably I have already just broken some copyright by posting a 
derived work of a source for which no copyright notice was given and 
hence by default, no redistribution would be permitted... and... I doubt 
me saying "yes" in this e-mail has much legal significance... but...
