Hi,
I'm having trouble with the installation of my Nova-USB box.
First I tested the box with the Windows SW and it worked alright.
However so far I haven't managed to receive anything with the Linux
drivers. On my notebook I have SuSE 9.0 with Kernel 2.4.21. Compilation
of linux-dvb from cvs (2005-03-14) worked without any problems and the
script 'insmod.sh start' worked without error messages.
When I plug in the USB box I get several error messages from the hotplug
system but the don't seem to cause any problem. From /var/log/messages
I get the information that the drivers seem to recognise the USB box.

If I try to tune to a certain channel I get the following output:

The value of 'ber' sometimes shows some values other than 0000000 but I
haven't figured out the conditions for that.
I realised antother strange behaviour. I tested the box with two
different antennas and locations. With the first antenna Windows says
that the signal strength is about 30-40% (aprox. 4-6 dB), the second
antenna gives a signal of 80-90% (aprox. 10-11dB). With both antennas I
get a signal quality of 100% and a error free picture.
Under Linux I get the same values for 'signal' and 'snr'.
I tried the new firmware that's delivered with the latest windows-SW. I
wrote a small program that converted the firmware into the fw header
file 'dvb-ttusb-dspbootcode.h'. That hasn't changed anything either.
I have checked the newsgroup archives and google for several
hours/days/nights :( and haven't got a clue what to do to get that box
running.
Could you give me a hint where the problem could be.
Thanks in advance.
Bye Jo
