I've used kaffeine for quite a while and I don't understand what too 
slow means, it's always been responsive , Mandrake 10.1 + 
linux-2.6.12-rc4 + Hauppauge WinfFast 2000 Nova-T XP + kaffeine-cvs 
built 3rd. March 2005, takes 3 seconds max to change a channel on an 
XP2800+/512M/FX5200 128M.
