Hi, I don't know what is in Debian's 2.6.12 Kernel, but with that driver it 
works reliably. I use it in a server machine - no problems except:

... The driver does no full HW - reset ???  Often a BIOS reboot does not 
reinit the card, needs HW power-off !!!
