Wait!

The above method would work just fine.... However, do it in THIS order 
instead:

#1 Kernel source linux-2.6.13.2
#2 download dvb-kernel
#3 hd5000-cleanup.patch
#4 run the patch on dvb-kernel (NOT KERNEL SOURCE)
#5 THEN install dvb-kernel
