I've tried this myself but get the following in the syslog:
Aug 26 18:17:12 blackadder tda1004x: found firmware revision 0 -- invalid
Aug 26 18:17:12 blackadder tda1004x: waiting for firmware upload
(dvb-fe-tda10045.fw)...
Aug 26 18:17:13 blackadder tda1004x: firmware upload complete
Aug 26 18:17:13 blackadder tda1004x: found firmware revision 0 -- invalid
Aug 26 18:17:13 blackadder tda1004x: firmware upload failed

How did you get it to work?
