Lachlan,

I hope the USB cable is plugged in - it was the first mistake I made. I 
don't see the USB side of the card in your logs such as below

Feb 14 18:42:26 mythmaster kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'DViCO FusionHDTV DVB-T 
Dual USB' in cold state, will try to load a firmware
