Don't know about USB but http://firedtv.com make IEEE 1394 DVB devices 
in T S & C flavours, the Linux driver isn't ready yet, (in-fact I joined 
the list to follow it's development, I would offer to help but I'd get 
in the way) but there's some working code in the wild.
