linuxtv-dvb-1.1.1.tar.bz2 is _very_ old.
Please use femon from the dvb-apps HG repository.

| usage: femon [options]
|     -h        : human readable output
|     -a number : use given adapter (default 0)
|     -f number : use given frontend (default 0)
|     -c number : samples to take (default 0 = infinite)

There is already a -c option...
