Hello!
------
I recently moved to area where only DVB-T is available and changed my
DVB-C-cards to two Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-T cards. However adding
one card lifted the load of my server to approx 0.8 and adding the
second card to approx 1.6. No processes are consuming the processor time so I
think the high load is due to dvb driver or kernel.
Is this a known problem and is there a workaround available?. I tried to search
the net for answers but found none.
Some info about the problem:
The distribution: Fedora Core 6
The kernel: 2.6.22.14-72.fc6
% uname -a

The card firmware:
% ls -la /lib/firmware/dvb*

I run oprofile on the server approximately idle and with the 1.6 load average
with the following results. Seems that the most time is spent in the dvb_core
kernel module:
CPU: P4 / Xeon, speed 2732.57 MHz (estimated)
Counted GLOBAL_POWER_EVENTS events (time during which processor is not stopped)
with a unit mask of 0x01 (mandatory) count 100000
