I wrote the patch with the softdevice plugin in mind, but it has been
reported to work on the dxr3.  Note that the dxr3 will not blank the
screen when the MPEG stream is suspended.

If you do not want to install this patch, try the following: start playing
back a recording, and hit Pause.  There is also a "suspendoutput" plugin
that works roughly like that.
