It happened with all live + replay - the 5.1 was the only thing that
came out properly.

But the solution has been found: fiddling with .xine/config (adding
some iec958:AES0=...) definitions solved the problem.  I wonder where
the problem came from.  I still do not fully understand the
.xine/config, but now it works for me (again:)
