VDR has always started VPS recordings at status 2. The ZDF has only recently
begun to support that status.
Apparently they haven't read the standard closely, because running status 2,
as you mentioned, means "starts in a few seconds" - clearly 5 minutes is more
than just a few seconds ;-)
