Philips Semiconductors produced a variety of chipsets, found in both STB and PC hardware, related to analogue and digital signal applications. Examples of such chipsets include the TDA8083, TDA1002x series and TDA1004x series demodulators.

In October 2006, Philips sold their controlling interest in this subsidiary to a private equity group, and it was subsequently renamed. See NXP Semiconductors.
