Kernel bugzilla is ready for use by the v4l-dvb community
<p>
A new category has been added to
<a href=http://bugzilla.kernel.org>Kernel Bugzilla</a>,
in an effort to expedite the handling of v4l-dvb problem tickets.
</p>
<p>
After contacting the
<a href=http://bugzilla.kernel.org>kernel bugzilla</a> maintainer, a new
category entitled "v4l-dvb" was introduced. Prior to this change, bugs were
classified as "Video - Other".
</p><p>
This new category allows users to open bug reports in the following components:
<ul>
bt8xx
</ul><ul>
cx88
</ul><ul>
dvb-core
</ul><ul>
dvb-frontend
</ul><ul>
dvb-usb
</ul><ul>
em28xx
</ul><ul>
pvrusb
</ul><ul>
radio
</ul><ul>
saa7134
</ul><ul>
ttpci
</ul><ul>
v4l-core
</ul><ul>
webcam
</ul><ul>
v4l-other
</ul><ul>
dvb-other
</ul>
</p><p>
We have approximately 200 individual modules in the v4l and dvb kernel
subsystems. To create a separate category for each module would only
introduce further complications to the user base.
</p><p>
In order to report trouble with a module not covered by one of the above
categories, the problem ticket should be filed under one of the generic
categories: "v4l-other" or "dvb-other"
</p><p>
If there is a particular module that requires more attention, we can
request that a new bugzilla component be added for it.
</p><p>
Using bugzilla will help us to maintain a knowledge base of bugs, solutions
and patches.
</p><p>
I kindly invite all driver maintainers to create an account there, and use
it regularly.
</p><p>
Have fun!
</p><p>
Cheers,<br>
Mauro.
