crope: just sent a fix for T230. Please test.
mchehab: \o/
theorem: doesn't look supported, let me check
theorem: not listed in the linuxtv.org wiki, and mythtv says it isn't supported
theorem: where did you buy the device? if it isn't expensive maybe I could get one myself and try to write a driver
hello guys
anyone for some idea on how I could proceed with my H830?
mchehab: I dont have that device to test :D maybe you have some device...
crope: ok
yeah, I have one rt2832 device somewhere
not sure if I took it with me or if it is still on my old address
1,200 km away
oh
it's far :D
mchehab: it should happen every usb device
likely yes
mchehab: T230 is cxusb and rlt28xxu is another one I have got multiple reports
ok, I'll do some tests with a device that it is handy
a Nova Td
dvb-usb based (dib0700)
I am starting wondering if there's some net problem
yeah, the book is there
trying with the patch
mrkiko: If you're a commercial customer, call Avermedia and ask for the driver. If not then buy a different stick.
patch incomplete. Just sent a new ver
will do more tests in the afternoon
devinheitmuell-1: oh... :) no no, I am a user. But the reason I am asking is that the device seems supported already, probably some tweask are needed to the driver ... nothing more
I need just help figuring them out
and Know it's not simple
they ship as driver a modified version of the in-kernel driver I mentioned
or... let's be clear
this is what I suspect
I might be wrong
mrkiko: It won't just work if you just add a board profile to the cx231xx driver.
That device has an unusual layout - the open source driver would require significant refactoring in order to support it.
Also, the driver they ship has a bunch of bugs too. I had to put significant work into it in order for it to be reasonably reliable.
If you're just a user and not a commercial party (and hence you only have one of them), just throw it out and get a device actively supported by the LinuxTV community.
Also, Avermedia's driver isn't derived from the in-kernel driver. Both the in-kernel driver and Avermedia's driver were derived from reference sources provided by Conexant. That's why they look similar (in fact, I was the one who submitted the mainline driver upstream after considerable cleanup).
devinheitmuell-1: thank you
thank to everyone guys, especially yout devinheitmuell-1 ; going ahead :D
bye
I hope I didn't scare him off. :-)
devinheitmuell-1: which are digital components of that H830 device?
They're all standard components, but the board layout is a bit wonky. I cannot really get into the details.
mmkay
Also, there have been a couple of different "H830" versions with different components.
