_JKL_: i just downgraded from ubuntu 15.04 to kodibuntu 14.04.2 LTS. with 15.04 i was able to find channels with w_scan. now w_scan does not find any. lsusb prints line Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1b80:e425 Afatech witch is interesting since my card is reddo like here https://plus.google.com/+AnttiPalosaari/posts/GKPcNNJTNEn
crope: _JKL_: device is MaxMedia and Reddo is just a brand reseller has printed to stickers. USB vendor ID 0x1b80 belongs to MaxMedia but someone has added it mistakenly as a Afatech to lsusb database
_JKL_: i wasnt able to get /dev/dvb folders with modprobe em28xx card=73. without specifying card it wanted to load firmware and i gave it to it. after that - for some reason - scan worked with fi-sonera file. w_scan did not work
crope: without demod firmware upgrade by drive (DRX-K) it does not work well. IIRC it works for cable for me, but not DVB-T
drx-k has firmware on the chip, but driver downloads newer one which contains bug fixes
_JKL_: it seems to work very well atm with dvb-c through tvheadend
i think it works noticeably better than system build few years ago
you helped me out then also, crope :)
crope: I added support for that device. and wasted 100e my money to buy device itself
