Greetings everyone! I happened upon Kodi.tv on accident and it has inspired me to actually use my hauppauge HVR-2250 in Zorin OS 11( Ubuntu 15.10).. Problem is that Hauppage points customers to http://www.steventoth.net that hasn't been updated since 2011.. How do I get this working? It appears I am running kernel 4.2.0.36-generic, and I followed the directions at http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux#Installing_Kodi_on_Ubuntu-based_distributions but when I run w-scan it returns: "main:3904: FATAL: ***** NO USEABLE TERRCABLE_ATSC CARD FOUND." is anyone familiar with szap? I'm trying to see if it can record all streams associated with a channel right now it's only recording the video and first audio streams there is another audio and several data streams (subtitles, etc) VLC records them all I think all the streams are listed in my ./szap/channels.conf file rebooting to see if that could be a thing.. brb ok, so during boot I caught the following error with my HVR-2250: "saa7164_downloadfirmware() no first image; saa7164_downloadfirmware() Upload failed. (file not found?); Failed to boot firmware, no features registered" First steps? so, how long am I supposed to wait for someone to acknowledge my existence and presence in this chat room? I would say I am pretty patient as it has been ?3? hours since I joined and started describing my issue Ok, I deleted everything for the second time and started over, interestingly I had a duplicated firmware (1.fw and 1(1).fw) after deleting and re-running the problem was resolved. Thanks for nothing.. in case anyone else comes along and someone can find the time to reply this was the most help: http://askubuntu.com/questions/308695/help-with-hauppauge-wintv-hvr-2250-on-ubuntu-13-04 Good luck with whatever you are doing and if you actually put some effort out to create these drivers / firmware thanks a million from the bottom of what probably looks like a grouch's heart! That at least was very helpful, useful, and as such very appreciated.
