WhoWhatWhen
miasmaHi guys. I still had no luck with the astrometa usb stick and its dvb-c frontend. I have the older model with "Realtek RTL2832P Panasonic MN88472 Rafael Micro R828D". opened the case and double checked the chip versions. I listed most of the relevant info here, but don't really know how to debug it further without debugging the kernel driver http://pastebin.ca/3741463 [04:59]

hmm, looking at the more verbose debug output, it doesn't seem to communicate at all with the panasonic chip :-/ maybe the dongle is just broken
here's another kernel log, but i guess this is hopeless http://pastebin.ca/3741509

james1138Hello all. Simple question (I hope)... Is there any Ubuntu apps/packages other than VLC that handle Analog Video Capture and Editing?? [21:00]

awallspitivi springs to mind, but without a very power machine, video editing will be an unhappy experience
*powerful

james1138Pitivi handles Analog? [21:55]

awallspitivi does editing.
capture isn't a big deal. IMO

james1138I think I caused confusion. I have a USB video capture device (Dazzle DVC 100). The windows software that came with it will not install. Lubuntu sees the hardware without problem but I am looking for Linux software that can handle video capture via Analog. [22:43]
awallsMPlayer works [22:57]
