WhoWhatWhen
dongsokay [00:52]
mkaindlhi, I am working on my first LinuxDVR.. It's a RPi3 with a Hauppauge WinTV soloHD, running tvheadend on raspbian. It worked for few weeks now with only little hickups, but stopped completely after I did a update yesterday :( I seem to get no data at all from the tuner anymore, w_scan tells me "ERROR: Sorry - i couldn't get any working frequency/transponder". Update included libdvbv5-0 (1.12.2-2, 1.12.3-1) and dvb-tools (1.12.2-2,
1.12.3-1), but downgrading them to the old version did not help.. any ideas, what I am doing wrong or what I could check?
ah, of course tried the cable on the TV and the stick on a windows-laptop, both working, so there is a signal and the stick seems to work

PepeHello guys
I was there 2 days ago and some guy told me about to disabling something, but I forget which it should be. :/
In these 2 days ago I confirmed that it is driver or kernel fault, because when I was on kernel 3.16 it was working w/o errors, but I'm back on Debian provided kernel for 4.9.0 (because OMV and ZFS)
I don't know what to do now to get it fixed. :)

dongs< Pepe> hm I have it enabled
< majortom_> # CONFIG_VMAP_STACK is not set
tjhis?
[12:13]
Pepeyes this, ty.I need to try it. [12:15]
dongsi find it absolutely ridiculous that something basic like dvb usb wouldn't be working in ANY kernel version
or pci dvb, whatever.
connection is kinda irrelevant
[12:17]
PepeWhy? There could be change in driver, which will be in other kernel version. [12:18]
dongswhy would a change break something? [12:19]
PepeI dont think that driver developer has every tuner which is available or used by that driver [12:21]
dongsi don't see why it would break that regardless
properly written driver for demod/pci/usb bridge does not affect tuner operation
windows drivers I write for my hardware do not break with every windows update
however I have yet to fix my shit for kernel above 2.6 since they made it so fucking difficult to actually compile anything out of tree for new kernels

mchehab: fag fix kaffeine!
