[02:56] <adamz> hi. i have a HauppaugeTV-quadHD card. its a quad-tunder card, identified as two PCIe devices. both "CX23885 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 03)". I've installed the firmward files for this card, an dits detected correctly (entriedsunder /dev/dvb). But it doesn't work. dmesg is spammed with "cx23885[0]: mpeg risc op code error" messages. [03:01] <procluevious> oO [03:02] <procluevious> op code sounds pretty low level, so it maybe the firmware files are botched...... [03:14] <adamz> that's what im thinking too. the card is identified as a different revision (rev 3 vs rev 4). also, dmesg shows "warning: unknown hauppauge model #166200" [03:16] <procluevious> ya [03:16] <procluevious> exactly [03:16] <procluevious> if it's another revision, normally things are backward compatible..... [03:16] <procluevious> but not forward [03:17] <adamz> right. except i have r3 and the linxutv wiki talks about r4. should have made that more clear! [03:17] <procluevious> so it's either backward-incompatibility bug or you have to wait for newer firmware...... [03:18] <procluevious> maybe you just need to apply a patch..... [03:18] <procluevious> write an email to hauppauge..... [03:18] <adamz> hm. bugger. i'll cross-post this to the linux-media list to see if others have an idea [03:19] <procluevious> ok [03:19] <adamz> good point. i'll CC hauppauge [03:38] <b-rad> i'm hauppauge engineer, email support and i'll get it sorted [04:28] <adamz> b-rad: i emailed support@hauppauge.com [04:29] <adamz> thanks! [05:28] <chatter29> hey guys [05:28] <chatter29> allah is doing [05:28] <chatter29> sun is not doing allah is doing [05:28] <chatter29> to accept Islam say that i bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad peace be upon him is his slave and messenger [08:49] *** gbee has quit IRC (Quit: Gone) [10:06] *** TFKyle has quit IRC (Quit: :q!)
