BuXY81: thanks LegalGuy :) if someone would _really_ offer his/her help, i'd be happy to discuss the problem. :)
***: abruanese has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
eelstrebor: i've been playing with w_scan and haven't had much luck - it shows "(time: 00:47.971) signal ok:	S f = 4060 kHz H SR = 32362 3/4 0,35 QPSK Info: no data from NIT(actual )after 11 seconds" on a few transponder freqs but i can't get it to generate an intitial tuning data file with the -x option
also, when i try to use the -k option i get "w_scan: invalid option -- 'k'"
i'm executing this command: w_scan -fs -s S97W0 -l C-BAND -R 0 -x > G19.init
i get a 0 byte file
the -X (uppercase) option works but not the -x option
hmm, just checked and found that the ubuntu repository shows w_scan 20141122 - maybe it was replaced with something better?
